Backhaus Towel Clamp

The Backhaus towel clamp, also known simply as a “Backhaus clamp,” is a surgical instrument made at Dyna International and is commonly used in medical procedures to secure surgical drapes and towels onto a patient’s body during surgery. It is named after its inventor, Georg Backhaus, a German surgeon. The clamp consists of two crossed, blunt-ended jaws with ratcheted handles that can be locked in place once the clamp is applied. The jaws have small teeth or serrations that help grip and hold onto the fabric without causing damage.
